MD&M West went by in a flash this year – what an amazing and busy week! The traffic seemed heavier than previous years with high quality leads seeking serious solutions for their current and future projects.
At this show, we highlighted some of our tooling in our “micro” tower. We showed the tiny custom core pins we use along with two sets of inserts that show the clear difference between conventional EDM and Sarix 3D Milling Technology. Also in the tower was the Smallest Part in the World mold insert on display for all to see. Read more about that here in our latest Microseries edition.
This is a great opportunity to highlight MTD’s expertise in the resorbable polymer molding market. There is a shift in the medical device world taking place toward resorbable products because they vastly reduce the need for follow up surgeries and less foreign bodies is always better for the patients. We find that the most important thing to medical device companies designing these components is consistency; consistency in IV loss, critical dimensions, strength, and part quality. This is not an easy feat with these special resins, but MTD’s proven validation process and 15 years of bioresorbable molding experience allows us to create the best and most consistent resorbable components that are in production today. With 100% of our business being in molding, 80% of those products are implantable, and 70% of those are bioresorbables. Read more about the bioabsorbable materials we regularly work with here.
This is always the busiest and best show for MTD. We fielded questions from leads that came from 6 different countries around the world. It is always exciting to see what medical device companies are innovating and show them how MTD can help make their product better than they may have expected.
